Barbara Ann (Parker) Morgan

Barbara Ann Morgan, 80, of Kannapolis passed away on February 11, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. She was born February 18, 1941 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late George and Zelphia Shue Parker. She was preceded in death by her sons, Lee and Bobby, daughter, Brenda Oliver,  and brothers, George Parker and John Parker.

Barbara was a “Mawmaw” to many children that she kept at her home for 40 years. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church but recently joined Wil-Mar Park Baptist Church. Barbara loved cooking and was known for her chicken & dumplings and banana pudding. She also loved making food for shut-ins, gardening, shopping, crafting and playing the piano. Barbara loved spending time at the beach at Ocean Lakes Campground with Royce and her family. She especially loved riding in a golf cart everywhere. Barbara also loved spending quality time with her family going to breakfast at numerous restaurants.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 at Carolina Memorial Park Plaza Mausoleum with Rev. David Wilson officiating. Her family will receive friends at her home, 2201 Englewood Street from 3 to 5 Sunday evening. Her body will lie in state Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 and Monday from 9 to 12 at Whitley's Funeral Home if anyone wishes to pay their respects.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, Royce Lee Morgan, daughter, Leann Morgan, grandchildren, Shana Mullis (Chris), Sonya Steger, Anabel Morgan, great grandchildren, Rayleigh Mullis, McKinley Mullis, Brynnlee Steger, Brantlee Sawyer, brothers, Bob Parker, Steve Parker (Diane), sister, Mary Lou Bradley.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association in honor of her husband, Royce’s condition.
