Barbara M. Polk

Obituary: Barbara M. Polk, 89 of Concord, passed away Sunday September 9, 2012 at Avante of Concord following a period of declining health. Mrs. Polk was born on June 17, 1923 in Erie County, New York, a daughter of the late Earl J. and Clara Bentley Ramage. She was formerly an executive secretary for WSOC TV during its infancy and later was executive secretary for Mr. I.D. Blumenthal. Barbara was a professional artist and was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis. Barbara is survived by two sons, Jack Saunders of Kannapolis, and Jeff Saunders of York, PA., two daughters, Sharon Saunders of Charlotte, and Rebecca Saunders-Maziarz of Putney, VT., 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Funeral service for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis, with Rev. James Matchette officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the church on Wednesday.
