Barbara Ann Thompson

Obituary: Barbara Ann Thompson, 80 of Concord passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, following a period of declining health. Mrs. Thompson was born in Wood County, W.VA. on November 22, 1933, a daughter of the late Okey T. and Mary Frances Golden Hendricks. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Clyde Thompson who passed away in 1991, a brother; Okey T. Hendricks, and a sister; Betty McPherson. Mrs. Thompson was employed as a seamstress for most of her working years. She was a loving caregiver, and an avid shopper. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include her sister; Shirley Hendricks of Parkersburg, W.VA., nieces and nephews; Linda and Michael Luby of Linthicum, MD., James and Pamela McPherson of Georgetown, TX, and Kevin McPerson and Gina Halbeison of Fremont, OH, as well as five additional nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and nephews, fifteen great-great nieces and nephews, and four great-great-great nieces and nephews.
