Barbara Jones Twitty

Obituary: Barbara Faye Jones Twitty, 64, of Concord went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born October 19, 1950 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late T.C.P. Jones and the late Myrtle Cartrette Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Twitty on Sept. 5, 2005, a brother, Charles Jones and a sister, Kay Stirewalt. Barbara was a member of First Assembly of God of Concord. She was employed at Cannon Mills/Fieldcrest Plt. #1, dye house until retiring in 2003. She enjoyed watching birds and fishing. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Chris Messina. At other times the family will be at the residence. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Reid and fiance' Charles Newsome, Jr. of Concord, one son, David Reid and fiancee Denise Furgeson of Rockwell, two step-sons, Richard Twitty of Charlotte and Darrell Twitty of Portland, Maine, two step-daughters, Teressa Campbell of Florida, and Kimberly Targuey of Windam, Maine. She is also survived by a sister, Sue Faulkner of Concord and two brothers, Bobby and Tony Jones of Concord, four grandchildren; Melissa and Jeff Stamey, Johnthan Rayfield, Bobby Rayfield,Jr., and Jamie Nichole Blackwelder and husband Jamie, and one step-grandson, Steven Furgeson. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Cadence, McKenzie, Addison, and Caleb. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Her beloved canine companion Rebel also survives.
