Barbara Jean Woodward

Obituary: Rockwell- Barbara "Jean" Woodward, 66, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at CHS-Northeast Medical Center. Born February 27, 1950 in Florence, SC, she was a daughter of the late Bryan E. and Dorothy Dixon Woodward. Jean had previously been a long time employee of Cannon Mills, where she was a weaver. A devoted and loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jean loved her family and her loyal dog, "PJ". Her family was her life and she will be greatly missed by them, and all who knew and loved her. Family members include her children Teresa Gunner (Tommy Brown), Larry James Gunner, Jr. and Sonja Gunner; her brothers Luther, Elbert, Bennie, David and Boyd Woodward; her sister Elaine Brown; her grandchildren Jessica Phillips (Jay), Sarah Bottenfield (Zach), Megan Morris, Michael Mullis (Heather), Chassity Le Ann Gunner, Justin Woodward and Andrew Hilton, and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, October 24th from 10:00-11:00 am at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Jean's life will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Jim Griggs.
