Baxter B. Shore

Obituary: Baxter Blaine Shore, age 79, of Kannapolis, formerly of Yadkinville, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis on Thursday, October 17 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and at Oak Forest Baptist Church, N. Wilkesboro on Antioch Church Rd on Friday, October 18, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM, his funeral service will be at 4:00 PM Friday in the Church Sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Baxter was born January 12, 1934 in Yadkin Co., a son of the late Wesley and Leona Chambers Shore. A long-time area resident, Baxter worked and managed many local hosiery mills. He was an avid gardener and loved his grandkids. He loved to share his produce with family and friends. Baxter was a generous, loving man and will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, Baxter was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Roger Shore and then his wife, Virginia Dare Call Shore. He is survived by his 2 sons; Ronnie Shore (Penni) of Kannapolis and Mark Shore (Karla) of Mooresville and his grandchildren, Ronnie Shore II, Brett Shore (Sarah), Caleb Shore, Haley Shore and Austin Shore, his sisters, Jean S. Crater of Hamptonville and Bessie S. Hill (Alfred)of Jonesville, and many nieces and nephews.
