Beauford Gordon

Obituary: Beauford "Gene" Eugene Gordon, age 81, of Landis died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis after a short illness. The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate his life at 11:00 AM Monday, June 22 at Second Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis, with Rev. Don R. Safrit officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor a half hour prior to the service, at other times the family will be at his residence. Gene was born April 24, 1934 in Iredell Co., a son of the late Archie and Winnie Mae Teague Gordon. He was a lifelong area resident and veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from being a long haul truck driver in 1992. Gene loved auctions, antiques, yard sales and old cars. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a son and 5 siblings. He has left behind his wife of 58 years, Peggy Freeze Gordon of the home, his son the late Keith Eugene Gordon with grandson Bryan K. Gordon and granddaughter Sydney E. Gordon, both of Enochville and her mother, Ann Gordon. He is also survived by daughters; Tonya G. Johnson (Daryl) of Concord with granddaughter Heather N. Johnson and Shirley G. Crainshaw (Tim) of Kannapolis with grand-dog "Jake". Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
