Bennett Frank Overcash

Bennett Frank Overcash, 93 of Concord went to be with the Lord  on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his residence.

Bennett was born March 10, 1928 in Iredell County, NC a son of the late Bruce Osborne Overcash and Lois Hudspeth Overcash. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Elmina Overcash on July 6, 2021.

He was a lifelong member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church in Concord where he had served as a Deacon, as church treasurer and an Elder. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and after retirement he enjoyed playing golf. He enjoyed evening chats with his friends and thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by his friends and family.

He is survived by two sons, Bennett Keith Overcash (late Jane Overcash) of Raleigh and Marshall Dale Overcash and wife Robin of Wake Forest.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin Overcash and wife Elizabeth, Brad Overcash, Ashley Hardee and husband Tanner, Brooke Carter and husband Trevor. Four great grandchildren also survive; Norah Overcash, Meredith Overcash, Bennett Hardee, and Bryson Hardee. One sister, Katie Emerson of Concord also survives.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Gilwood Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Alan Buckner and Rev. Charles Blasdell. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
