Bertha Braswell Moss

Obituary: Bertha Braswell Moss, age 94, of Kannapolis, NC died unexpectedly Monday morning, June 18, 2012 at Hillsdale Community Health Center, Hillsdale, Michigan. She was born April 22, 1918 in Mecklenburg County, NC, the daughter of the late George Braswell and Nellie Moser Braswell. Bertha was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Wash Cloth Department for 20 years until her retirement. She also worked for the former Terry Products, Inc. and the Kannapolis Credit Bureau. She was an active member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC for over 65 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Miles West Moss who died in 2002. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Neil Brower. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times they will be at the home on Lane Street. Survivors include her son, Mike West Moss & wife, Cherise Joann Zopff of Hillsdale, MI; a daughter, Cherie Milene Moss of Chestfield, VA; two grandchildren, Kyra M. Moss and Sawyer A. Moss of Hillsdale, MI. Memorials may be made to Jackson Park United Methodist Church, 715 Mable Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
