Bertie Mae Ross Lowery

Obituary: Bertie Mae Ross Lowery, 86, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at her residence. Death was unexpected. She was born January 17, 1929 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Charles Grady Ross and the late Lillie Mae Clinton Ross. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lowery, two brothers, Richard "Chink" Ross and Henry Ross, two sisters, Mary "Tootsie" Murray, and Bertha Lowery. Bertie was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, She was an inspector in the wash cloth department of Cannon Mills retiring with 45 years of service. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Brown (Taft) of Kannapolis, one grandson, Paul Brown of Kannapolis, two sisters, Shelby Miller of Kannapolis and Rachel (Jim) Younts of Salisbury, two brothers, Tony Ross of Kannapolis, and Grady Ross (Gloria) of Salisbury. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Howard. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence of the daughter.
