Obituary: Bessie Margaret Wright Crosby, age 77, of the Enochville Community, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center, Salisbury, NC after two years of declining health.She was born February 10, 1934 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late D. Frank Wright and Mary London Wright. She was a graduate of Landis High School.Bessie was a homemaker for most of her life. In her earlier years she worked for the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#1 Wash Cloth/Cutting Dept. She was a life member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC where she was active in the Luther League in her teenage years and participated in activities with the Womens' Circle. She loved to travel but she also loved to sit at the kitchen table and watch the birds and look at her flowers in the yard. Her favorite destination was going to Disney World especially with her children and grandchildren.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Reid Wright.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at St. Enoch Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. John Mark Beam. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis.Survivors include her husband, of 59 years, James R. (Jimmy) Crosby; two daughters, Jan C. Adcock and husband Rodger and Denise Crosby, both of China Grove (Enochville Community), NC; four sons, Danny Crosby & wife, Susan and Mike Crosby & wife, Jane, both of China Grove, NC, Rick Crosby & wife, Rosemary of China Grove (Enochville Community), NC, and Tim Crosby & wife, Kathy of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, Chris Adcock, Angie A. Hart, Brett, Matthew, Michelle, Daniel, and Jacob Crosby, Andy and JoAnn Fugitt; ten great-grandchildren, Bailey, Nathaniel, and Landon Adcock, Carter & Grant Crosby, Liddy Hart, Andrea, Dylan, Eli, & Wes Fugitt; sisters, Laura W. Hunter and Becky W.
