Bessie Ann (Webster) Rodgers

Bessie Ann Webster Rodgers, 86 of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Atrium Health Northeast Medical Center in Concord.

Bessie was born February 1, 1937 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of the late Lee Ander Webster and Daisy Virginia Watt Webster. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Webster.

She was an active member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church in Kannapolis as long as her health permitted. At one time she served as church organist.

In early life Bessie was employed at Cannon Mills Plant #4 as an inspector and later worked at Tri-State Hospital Supply in Salisbury.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and making trips to the mountains. She also enjoyed gardening in her earlier days.

Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chad Hayes. The family will receive friends at the church 1:30 P. M. until 2:30 P.M. prior to the service. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Chapel Mausoleum in China Grove.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years, Arthur Banks Rodgers of the home, one son, Mike Rodgers of Rockwell, one brother Jerry Webster of Faith, N.C, and a sister Patsy Zimmerman and husband Jack of Statesville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial be made to Blackwelder Park Baptist Church,2204 Summit Avenue, Kannapolis, N.C. 28081.
