Bessie Steele

Obituary: Bessie Honeycutt Steele, age 87, formerly of 418 Peach Street, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. She was born September 21, 1921 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Isaac and Lucy Honeycutt. She was employed for many years at the former Cannon Mills Company, Kannapolis, NC and was a lifelong member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Ervin Steele in 1963 and a sister, Ann Waller, in 1998. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Lou Pfeiffer. She is survived by two half-sisters, Nora Mae Jones of Lexington, NC and Mary Ellen Ramm of Greensboro, NC; and a number of nieces.
