Betty Ailiff

Obituary: Betty Horner Ailiff went home to be with the Lord the morning of January 17th 2017 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Floyd Horner and Betty Loretta Baldwin. Her siblings Harvey Horner of Asheboro, NC, Tom Horner of West End, NC, Helen Kimball of West End, NC, Louise Ragsdale of Troy, NC. Betty is survived by her brother John Robert Horner and loving husband of 53 years Leonard R. Ailiff Jr. They were married in West End, NC on July 2nd 1963. Betty is lovingly remembered by her son Dallas Gibson, of Kernersville, NC; daughter Christine Mendoza, of Landis, NC; stepdaughter Suellen Nestor, of Thaxton, Virginia; stepson Steve Ailiff, of Snoqualmie, WA; son Roscoe Ailiff, of Charlotte, NC; grandson Stephen Gibson, of Alexis, NC; granddaughter Hope Farrell, of Houston TX; grandson Jonathan Gibson, of Houston Texas; grandson Shawn Gibson, of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter Heather Klaus, of Matthews, NC; granddaughter Patricia Wiseman of Indian Land, SC; grandson Zachary Ailiff, of Charlotte, NC. Betty was born in West End, NC on August 13, 1933. She graduated from West End High School in 1961. She worked as an order clerk for a company in Charlotte before becoming a loving housewife and foster mother of over 40 children. Betty enjoyed Gospel Music, crossword puzzles, feeding the many hummingbirds that visited during the summer and trips to the mountains. The celebration of life will be held at Lake Forest Church, 8519 Gilead Rd, Huntersville, NC on January 28th at 11:00 AM. Pastor Aron Gibson is officiating. A fellowship will follow.
