Obituary: Betty Sue Phillips Bentley, 80, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from her home with her family by her side after a period of declining health. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 29 with her son-in-laws, Rev. Steve Sexton and Rev. Randall Ritchie, officiating. Betty was born on June 1, 1938 in Georgia, a daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Allen Phillips. She was 1 of 13 children. Betty moved to Kannapolis at an early age, attended A. L. Brown High School and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Betty was a sewer at Terry Products making infant apparel for many years until she retired. She enjoyed going fishing at the beach with her husband. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and loved her family and caring for her grandbabies. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ray Bentley, her granddaughter, Audrey Bentley, her 6 brothers and 2 of her sisters. She is survived by her Children, Beverly Sexton (Steve) of China Grove, Greg Bentley (Janette) of Salisbury, Teresa Kidd (Gerald) of Salisbury and Christine Ritchie (Randall) of Kannapolis; her 7 grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren, her 4 sisters. Also surviving is her special dog companion, Bella.
