Betty O'Kelly Bresett

Obituary: Betty Frances O'Kelly Bresett, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System-Main, Charlotte, NC after an illness. She was born November 5, 1946 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Daniel Willard O'Kelly and Minnie Pennell O'Kelly. In earlier years Betty was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company. In later years she worked for Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord, NC for fourteen years. She was a member of North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC. Betty enjoyed traveling with her husband to Gatlinburg, TN as a favorite destination. The family highly thought of her as absolutely a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put her children first in her life. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Ron Haithcock. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband of 102 years (51), Francis R. (Buddy) Bresett; two sons, Ronald Wayne Bresett & wife, Denita of Kannapolis, NC and Danny Lee Bresett of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Debra Ann Bresett of Kannapolis, NC; 1 grandson, A.J. Smith of Kannapolis, NC; 1 brother, James O'Kelly & wife, Anita of Concord, NC; and two half-brothers, Oscar Stackleather & wife, Margaret of Richfield, NC and Homer Stackleather & wife, Margaret of Columbia, SC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, 314 W. 12th Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday February 19, 2016 Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 1:00 PN, Saturday February 20, 2016 North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church.

Interment: West Lawn Memorial Park China Grove, North Carolina.
