Obituary: Betty Jean Haley Cauble, 77, formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at CMC-NE. Her death follows a period of declining health. Mrs. Cauble was born on January 17, 1935 in Sumter County, SC., a daughter of the late Charlie Wesley and Minnie Starnes Haley. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Cauble, a daughter, Cheri Jean Cauble, and a son, Kyle Cauble. Mrs. Cauble was a graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College where she was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a librarian at A.L. Brown High School for 30 years. She was a devoted member of Royal Oaks United Methodist Church where she was active in the Methodist Women's group. Mrs. Cauble enjoyed the beach and specially loved her grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Royal Oaks United Methodist at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jessie Rogers and Rev. Greg Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 20, at Whitley's funeral home and 30 minutes prior to services at the church on Thursday. Mrs. Cauble is survived by her son, Lyle Ray Cauble and wife Crystal of Concord, a grandson, Cody and a granddaughter, Makenzie, a brother, Ray Haley and wife Glenda of Asheville, NC., a brother-in-law, Larry Cauble and wife Marion of Concord.
