Obituary: Betty Dean Stephens Coxey, 75, of Kannapolis died Monday, June 13, 2011 at her home. She was born December 26, 1935 in Danville, Va., the daughter of the late Jim T. and Cora Belle Hawks Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy L. Coxey on June 8, 1989.She had retired from Terry Products, Inc. She was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed making all types of crafts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Marler Starnes. Burial will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Whitley's.She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Bracewell (Mike) of Rockwell, three grandchildren: Christopher, Kayla and Cody, and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.Memorials may be made to Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 509 W. 22nd Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
