Obituary: Betty Sheets Evans, 75, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Tucker Hospice House. She was born May 16, 1941 in Ashe Co. to the late Clyde Wade Sheets and Grace Viers Sheets. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, October 7, 2016, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastors George Morris and Mitch Thomas, burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:30 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. Betty retired from Collins and Aikman Food Service after 19 years. She attended Homestead Baptist Church for 20 years and most recently Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed time with friends and family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters Eva Hunter and Billie White. Those left to cherish her memory, her husband Bill Robert Evans, two daughters Tammy McKnight of China Grove, Rhonda Johnson (Brian) of China Grove, two sisters Wanda Honeycutt, Brenda Morris (George) both of Kannapolis, four grandchildren, Kevin McKnight (Lauren) of Las Vegas, Haley McKnight of Dallas, NC, Lauren Johnson and Landon Johnson both of China Grove, and one great grandson, Lucas Rodney McKnight. Memorials may be made to Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 509 W. 22nd St. Kannapolis, NC 28081. Online condolences may be made at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
