Betty Fisher Hallford went to be with her Lord and family Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
She was born September 20, 1936 to the late Ernest and Fern Fisher of Peabody, Kansas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Hallford; grandson, Michael Hallford Jr.; sister, Bonnie and brother Roland of Kansas.
Betty retired from Shady Brook Elementary School, where she worked as a baker in the cafeteria. Later retiring from caring for patients at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.
She met Stanley Hallford at Council Grove Lake while he was stationed in the Army at Fort Riley, Kansas. They were married on December 24, 1954 and were happy for 64 1/2 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her sons, Mike Hallford (Deb) of Pinnacle, David Hallford of Rockwell, and John Hallford (Lynn) of Surfside Beach. Such a loving mom will be missed by all.
Ma had 6 grandchildren, Christina Kirkman (Jasen) of Granite Falls, the late Michael Hallford Jr. (Lorie) Lenior, Justin Hallford, Clay Hallford, and Leigh Hallford Ziebell (Mike) of South Carolina; step grandchildren, Noah and Ian of Huntersville. 4 great-grandchildren, Cameron and Payton Kirkman of Granite Falls and Blake and Brooke Hallford of Lenior. Betty was also blessed with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother and Ma.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation starting at 1:00pm in Whitley’s Chapel with Rev. Jasen Kirkman officiation. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
