Obituary: Betty Maxine Hilburn Harrington "Pat", 80, of Kannapolis NC died June 9, 2016 at Five Oaks Manor. She was born on January 7, 1936 in Walker Co., GA, the daughter of the late Daniel Webster Hilburn and the late Arie Cochran Hilburn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. Betty retired after 25 years of service in the washcloth dept. of the former Cannon Mills Co. She was a giver, and would help anyone in need. She adored her family and they will sorely miss her. Betty was affectionately known to her family as "Pat" and known as one who enjoyed adventure games of chance. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Joseph Harrington of the home. A daughter, Roxanne Hunter (Richard) of Concord; her granddaughter, Tara Leigh Hunter of Charlotte; a grandson, Alan Hunter of Concord; a sister, Derelle Kiser of Concord and a brother, Hoyt Hilburn of FL. A graveside celebration of life service for Mrs. Harrington will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday (today) at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 at Whitley's Funeral Home before the service. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of Five Oaks Manor for the love and compassion shown to "Ms. Betty."
