Betty Hedrick

Obituary: Betty Harrington Weaver Hedrick, 84, of Concord passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 while at Mt. Pleasant House Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 30 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joey Spry officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Friday, prior to the funeral. Betty was born May 15, 1933 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Homer and Beatrice Stancil Harrington. In addition to her parents; Betty was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Edward L. Weaver in 1977, her 2nd husband, Carl Weaver, Jr, in 1998, her daughter, Wanda Query, 1 sister and 2 brothers. She was a lifelong area resident and was of the Baptist faith. Betty worked for many years at Cannon Mills Co. in the #2 weave room and then as an inspector for Terry Products prior to retiring. She enjoyed her flower garden, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch and spending time with her family. Betty loved her children and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her three sons; Ed Weaver (Kim) of Concord, Ronald Weaver (Sheila) of Kannapolis, Rick Weaver (Eva) of Concord and one daughter, Teresa Sloop of Kannapolis, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her brother, Wayne Harrington (Susie) of Blackwater, MO as well as a number nieces and nephews.
