Betty Hinson

Obituary: Mrs. Betty Stallings Hinson, 87 of Concord, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2019 after a month of declining health. Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Alexander Hinson in December 1998. She is survived by her son, Kenneth, his wife Connie of Concord, two granddaughters Sarah Hurley and Amy Johnston, their husbands Dallas and Nathan respectively and three great grandsons, Alexander, Jonathan and Levi all of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Hinson is also survived by sisters; Kay Trivette, husband Howard of Concord, Jane Hughes of Charlotte and brother, Roy C. Stallings Jr., wife Betty also of Concord and numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Hinson was a member of Friendship Southern Baptist in Concord. Mrs. Hinson was active in churches throughout Cabarrus and Rowan Counties during her lifetime. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the church for 80 plus years. She also was an accountant in various industries culminating with Industrial Tires Limited, Concord where she retired in 2007. Mrs. Hinson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was known for her dynamic personality, her love for people and most importantly her love for Jesus. She loved sharing the love of Christ, going to church, gospel music, visiting with others, traveling with family, shopping, and NASCAR racing. The family will receive friends at Friendship Southern Baptist Church in Concord on, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10am - 11:30am. A memorial service will follow at the church and graveside service will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord. The memorial service will be officiated by Rev. Chuck Hensley and Rev. Jesse Watkins. The graveside reading of scripture will be performed by Rev. Marty Payton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to Friendship Southern Baptist Church building fund.
