Obituary: Kannapolis - Betty Elledge James, age 68, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at her home after a short serious illness. She was born November 20, 1940 in Wilkes County, NC, the daughter of the late James S. Elledge and Sadie Barnette Elledge.She had lived in Kannapolis most of her life. She was employed as a hospitality hostess with Holiday Inn Express, Kannapolis, NC for many years where she thoroughly enjoyed meeting people. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan E. James; a son, Mark James, and an older brother, Billy Howard. The graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC officiated by Rev. Eddie Hudson.The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday. Survivors include her three sons, Christopher James & wife, Lori of Kannapolis, NC, Scott James & wife, Crystal of Salisbury, NC, and Jimmy James & wife, Audra of Concord, NC; ten grandchildren, Lynn, Tyler, Brooke, Mandi, JoAnna, Stephine, Jacob, Kayla, Destiny, and Cooper; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jackson, and Nicholas; a sister, Barbara NeCaise & husband, of Richfield, NC; and one brother, Roy Dean Elledge of North Carolina. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Service: 1:00 P.M. Graveside Wednesday, March 18, 2009 West Lawn Memorial Park
