Obituary: Betty Mae Brown Jones, 74, of Salisbury died at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, NC on Friday, July 23, 2010. Betty was born on September 1, 1935 in Rowan Co., NC the daughter of the late Frank A. Brown and the late Gertrude Britt Brown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Bob Brown and Belvin Brown and 2 sisters; Ellen Leazer and Mary Helen Willis. She was of the Baptist Faith and educated in Kannapolis City Schools. She retired from Fieldcrest Cannon, Plant 16 from the Weave Room after 35 years of service. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed Bluegrass and Bluegrass gospel music. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Morris. She is survived by her husband, Morris R. Jones of the home and one son, Morris F. (Moses) Jones & wife, Dale of Kannapolis. Also by a daughter, Cathy Jones of Rockwell and a granddaughter, Christie and by 3 great grandchildren. The funeral service will take place at 2p.m. Tuesday, July 27th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis conducted by Rev. Samuel Wilson. Burial will take place at Brookhill Memorial Garden in Rockwell, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 26th at Whitley's Funeral Home. Visitation: 6-8:00 P.M. Monday July 26, 2010 at Whitley Funeral Home.

Service: 2P.M. Tuesday, July 27th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Brookhill Memorial Garden in Rockwell, NC
