Obituary: Betty Lou Earnhardt Keeter, 79, formerly of Goldmoor Drive in Concord, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis with her family and friends by her side. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, Dec. 27th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 27th from 12:00 - 1:00 PM prior to the funeral services. She was born September 12, 1931 in Concord, the daughter of the late Chester Lee Earnhardt and Ella Mae Harvell Earnhardt. She retired from Concord Telephone Company with 21 years of service. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. She enjoyed making and decorating cakes, sewing, crafts, and writing poems. She was loved dearly by many people and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her father Chester Lee Earnhardt and sister Doris Edna Williams. In addition to her mother, Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, William Henry Keeter of the home, a son David M. Keeter and wife Robin of Kannapolis, a sister Nancy Lee Ballard and husband Eddie of Concord and many nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful to the loving, caring staff of Transitional Health Services and Hospice of Cabarrus County.
