Betty Sue (Tate) Looman

Betty Sue Tate Looman, 74, of Davidson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Accordius of Salisbury.

Betty was born on May 5, 1946 in Mecklenburg county, a daughter of the late George and Virginia Pruitt Tate. In addition to her parents Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband William Thomas Looman and brothers, Buck, Billy, and Jim Tate.

Betty was a life long area resident and graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. Betty spent her life caring for others. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and she was a day care worker at several area day care facilities. She will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Angie Truisi (Andy), and Wanda Shoup, her sisters, Margaret McQueen, Glenda Tate (Bernie), Judy Benton, Barbara Tate, her brothers, Edgar, and Jackie Tate, four grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessee Parham, Samantha and Summer Shoup and twelve great-grandchildren. Betty also leaves behind her loving canine companion Bear.

Funeral services to honor Betty’s life will be held 12:00 P.M. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Braden officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Interment will immediately follow after the service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
