Obituary: Betty Sue Miller McDaniel, age 78, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Five Oaks Manor, Concord, NC after three years of declining.She was born December 25, 1932 in Iredell County, NC, the daughter of the late Hedrick Miller and Lillian Atwell Miller.Betty was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#1 #1 Weave Room Kannapolis, where she worked for 38 years until her retirement. She was a member of Bethany Bible Church, Kannapolis, NC. Her family fondly remembers her love for joking, eating at the Golden Corral restaurant, and going to the beach.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin McDaniel who died in 1988; a daughter, Tangie Gilyard; two grandchildren, Johnny Ray McIntyre and Richard Wayne Eagle, Jr.; and three brothers, David Miller, Johnny Miller, and Bruce MillerThe funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Bobby Sutherland. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home.Survivors include three daughters, Melanie McDaniel Canup of Kannapolis, NC, Frankie McIntyre of Salisbury, NC and Madalyn Simpson of Rockwell, NC; one grandson, Gregory Milam; two great-grandchildren, Zach Simpson and Tera Joe Simpson; a sister, Lois Jones of Kannapolis, NC; and a brother, James Miller of Mooresville, NC.Memorials may be made to Bethany Bible Church, 623 N.
