Betty Ruth (Pethel) Menius

Betty Ruth Pethel Menius, 85, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on July 1, 1937 in Rowan County to the late Rev. Roy Pethel and Nancy Lambert Pethel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her daughter, Deborah Menius Hutchins; son, William Edward Menius Jr., brothers, Rev. Richard Pethel, Harold Pethel, Charlie Pethel, and Eugene Pethel, and a sister, Shirley Pethel Barr.

Betty enjoyed traveling all over the United States and abroad with her husband, Bill Menius, who served and retired from the Air Force. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 70 years, William “Bill” Edward Menius; son, Michael Dean Menius; brother, Kenneth Pethel; sister, Phyllis Pethel Wilkes, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Grace City Church, 405 N. Bostian St., China Grove, NC. The funeral service will follow and begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Murphy officiating. Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC.
