Betty Grace (Stratton) Morgan

Betty Grace Stratton Morgan, 85, of Kannapolis, passed away Friday morning, March 3, 2023, at her son’s home.

Born December 18, 1937, in Hartsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Jettie Mae Atkinson Stratton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Carl Morgan; a son, Steve H. Weatherford; siblings, Rosalee Gamble, Laverne, Marvin and Bevel Mae Stratton; and grandchildren, Sissy Lentz, Shawn Gainey and Amy Morgan.

Mrs. Morgan had worked as a winder in the textile business most of her life. She loved fishing, camping, flowers and, loving to laugh, she enjoyed watching comedies on TV. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, Betty will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Family members include her children, Tommy Weatherford (Joalice), Bonnie Craven, Cathy Mishak, Shirley Winstead and Jeff Morgan (Tina); 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 6th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Services to remember and celebrate Betty’ s life will begin at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Andy Downs.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
