Betty Overcash

Obituary: Betty Belcher Overcash, 87, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 19, 2016 after a period of declining health. She was born May 26, 1929 to the late Walter and Ann Belcher. She was raised and spent most of her life in Kannapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Mildred and Ina Ruth, and her loving husband of 60 years, L.A., Sr. Betty was an adoring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her three sons endlessly. She worked in the medical profession for many years. Betty also enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers, reading and spending time at her house on Lake Norman. She was active in her church for as long as her health would allow. Survivors include her three sons, Gene and wife, Ginger, L.A., Jr. and wife Patty, Darrell and wife, Kim, grandchildren, Jason and wife, Mandy, Clint and wife, Sara, Lacee and husband, Jeremy, Zachory and Skylar, four great grandchildren, Bryson, Kinston, Jackson and Jackie. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church in Concord at 4:00 PM. Family will receive friends prior from 3 to 4. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior Citizen group at New Hope Baptist Church, 555 Neisler Rd., Concord, NC 28025, a group Betty loved.
