Obituary: Betty Hampton Reece, 84, of Kannapolis, NC died on November 25, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Betty was born on Oct. 3, 1931 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late James Riley Hampton and the late Minnie Leona Baugh Hampton. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reece, Jr. and three brothers; Raymond Hampton, James Hampton and Herbert Hampton. She attended Cannon High School and had worked for the former Cannon Mills Co., where she worked in the sewing dept. for 25 years. She was a member of Calvary Bapt. Ch. in Kannapolis and faithfully served 40 years in the nursery dept. She also served as a G.A. leader. She is survived by her children; Charlene Reece Foster (David Foster, Sr.) of China Grove and Kenneth Reece (Sabra) of Concord; grandchildren; Lisa Molenda of Fort Myers, FL, David Foster, II (Rhonda) of Kannapolis, Michael Reece and Terry Miller both of Concord; great-grandchildren; Brittany Molenda and Bailey Molenda both of Charlotte, Michael Molenda of Salisbury, Megan McClamrock, Elijah Foster and Caleb Foster all of Kannapolis and Taylor Miller also of Charlotte: brothers; Everette "Bud" Hampton of Chapel Hill and Leonard Hampton of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. The service for Mrs. Reece will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 29th at Calvary Baptist Ch., conducted by Rev. R.J. Hammond. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 12:30-2:00 Sunday before the service. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved her dearly. She was a grandmother and mother to many, not just her own. She always wanted to help everyone. Like one of God's Angels on earth, her strength and unconditional love for family and others will always be remembered.
