Betty Mildred Morefield Morgan Ross

Obituary: Betty Mildred Morefield Shuping Morgan Ross, 86, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury following a brief illness. She was born January 29, 1929 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of the late Bertie Webster and Enza Vera Fultz Morefield. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her first husband, James Shuping in 1984, 2nd husband, Bill Morgan in 1991, and her 3rd husband, Dennis Ross in 2009. Survivors include one daughter, Terri Shuping Correll and husband Bob of China Grove, two grandchildren, Chris and wife Kim Correll of Winston-Salem, Amanda and husband Lt. John Schnepper of Virginia Beach, Va., three great grandsons, Emmett and Owen Correll and Jack Schnepper, one brother, Harold W. Morefield, Sr .and wife Margaret of Salisbury. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Josh Britton. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to final rites. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, Sunday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, Terri Correll, China Grove. Betty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was a part of the Sunshine Sunday School Class and the Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club. She was a former member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She served as church secretary at Park Avenue and also Grace United Methodist Church. She also worked for the Rowan County Arts Council. She enjoyed crocheting and dearly loved her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund, 846 Faith Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
