Betty Lou (Pratt) Vance

Betty Lou (Pratt) Wright-Jacks-Vance passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 82.

She was born on March 20, 1941, to Leroy and Erma (Lemler) Pratt. She spent her early childhood in Bourbon, IN.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved infant son David Allen Wright; her gypsy-soul granddaughter, Aleta Barajas; two sisters, Elaine Whitfield and Diane Liggett; one brother, Allen Pratt; and her beloved husband Kenneth H. Jacks

Left to cherish the memory of Betty Vance are her children, Melissa Wright, Melinda (Wright) Paszli, Kevin (Linda) Jacks and Debra (Bob) Barajas; Her grandchildren, Aiden Paszli, Autry Paszli, Denise Tennant, Chris Jacks, Steve Jacks, John Jacks, Kelly Jacks, Leslie Barajas, Ronda McCullough, Sean Jacks, Scott Jacks, Colleen Trujillo; 20 great-grandchildren; Her sister, Joan Walton; Her first cousins that she always considered siblings, Kathy (Al) Blackwell and Larry (Donna) Lemler; and her many nieces and nephews.

Betty graduated from Washington-Clay High School in 1959.  She retired from her long-term employer, Gibbs Wire & Steel where she made many life-long friends.

Betty Lou had an adventurous spirit mixed with a great sense of humor. She loved doing crafts, making quilts, line dancing and gardening.  She also had a great passion for traveling, camping, canoeing, and exploring new places.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 5th from 12:00-2:00 at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Inurnment will follow at St. Jospeh Valley Cemetery.
