Betty Jean King Walter, 94, of Kannapolis went into her heavenly home on Friday, August 12, 2022.
Betty was born on August 25, 1927 to the late Ray Edgar King and Maggie Wilson King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Brandon Walter in 1982; two sisters, Faye Beaver and Paula Melton, and a son, Dennis Lee Walter.
Betty was retired as an administrative assistant from UNC-Charlotte after 20 years. She was a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church. She enjoyed keeping track of family history and sharing fun family stories. She also loved crocheting, needlepoint and solving crossword puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Franklin (Tere) Walter, Francine (David) Knox, Chris (Lisa) Walter; daughter-in-law, Barbara Walter; five grandchildren, Brandon (Kristina) Knox, Nick (Ashton) Walter, Ethan Walter, Chip (Marina) Camarata, and Stephen (Rebekah) Camarata; five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Phyllis Hemingway and Linda Kerr; brother, Wilson King, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Concord on Monday, August 22, 2022. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Latimer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 30 Union Street N., Concord, NC 28025.
