Betty Brown Wellman

Obituary: Betty Brown Wellman, age 77, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, NC after five years of declining health. She was born December 15, 1931 in Iredell County, NC, the daughter of the late Clarence Brown and Viola Miller Brown. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#10 & Plt#4 for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Brown. The funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 11, 2009 at Bethpage United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jeff Coppley. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James E. Wellman; three daughters, Donna Tillman and husband, Frank of China Grove,, NC, Cathy Baucom and husband, Ed of Supply, NC, and Tami Williams and husband, George of St. Louis, MO; Six grandchildren, Shane Johnson and wife, Ashley, and Eric Johnson and wife, Ellen, Mandy and Ronnie Paxton, and Stephanie and Staci Guyot; three great-great-grandchildren, Madalynn McKnight, Elijah Johnson, and Pamela Bruce; And two sisters, Shirley Hager of Mooresville, NC and Phyllis Twitty of Davidson, NC.
