Bettye June Parton

June 6, 1926 — May 15, 2013

Obituary: Bettye June Parton's sunrise was June 6, 1926 to Columbus Blane and Nora Jones Keeney of Bradley County, Tennessee. Her sunset was May 13, 2013 at Heritage Plantation in Salisbury. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Lamar Parton in 2012. She also was preceded by three sisters, Frances Johnson Harmon (Elmo), Reba Keeney Dorn (Ervin), and Wilma Keeney Gonia. Mrs. Parton was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Kannapolis. Mrs. Parton had been involved in the Ministry of the Lord since 1945. She had worked at Belk's at the Carolina Mall for many years. A celebration of Mrs. Parton's life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jack Kivette and Rev. Keith Flack. Her family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley's. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. She is survived by her sons, Leumoin Keeney Parton (Barbara) and Evan LaVaughn Parton (Cindy), her sisters, Iris Keeney Parton (Thomas Hood Parton Jr. ), Joyce Keeney Womack (Donald), two granddaughters and two step great grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 2425 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28203 or to www.cabarruscountyredcross.org.
Visitation: 12:00P.M.-2:00 P.M., Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 P.M., Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: West Lawn Memorial Park.
