Obituary: William Anderson Hunter Sr. 77, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House. He had been in declining health for the past six months. Mr. Hunter was born in Cabarrus County on June 27, 1934 the son of Charles Bailey and Mildred Eudy Hunter.Mr. Hunter was a 1953 graduate of Winecoff High School, served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of First Reformed Church of Landis where he had served on the consistory, and often served as usher. He retired in 1995 from Roadway Express where he was a truck driver for many years.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with Rev. David Franks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home.Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann, two sons, William A. Hunter Jr. and wife Kathy, and Timothy Charles Hunter and wife Meko, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.The family suggest memorials be made to First Reformed Church of Landis, 210 N.
