Beverly June Bates Rahme

Obituary: Beverly June Bates Rahme, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after battling cancer for nine years. She was born November 15, 1952 in Woodbury County, Iowa, the daughter of Beverly Irene White Bates of Sioux City, IA and the late Robert Gipson Bates. Beverly was a proud 1971 graduate of Riverside High School. She moved to live in North Carolina in 1990 from Iowa. Beverly was employed as a bookkeeper with Winn-Dixie, China Grove, NC for eleven years. Prior to that time she worked at the former First Union Bank. She was an active member of Bright Light Baptist Church, Concord, NC where she was church treasurer, sung in the choir, and active in various phases of church activities. Her family fondly remembers her love for children in the church and everywhere. Beverly also liked to bake, can foods, and work with flowers as special interests in her life. She was viewed by many as a person who loved to help others. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC officiated by Dr. Ronnie Simpson. Survivors include her husband of twenty-three years, Ricky Rahme; two sisters, Barbara Cannon & husband, Charles of New London and Bonnie Bates of Sioux City, IA; a niece, Nicole; her step-son, Jason Rahme of Concord, NC; and a special friend, Tamera Parker of Salisbury, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bright Light Baptist Church, 960 Old Charlotte Road SW, Concord, NC 28027.
