Billie Hyde

Obituary: Billie Jean Wellman Hyde, 90 of Kannapolis, NC passed away at her home on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018. Billie was born on Sep. 21, 1928 in Cabarrus County a daughter of the late Sidney Estus and the late Minnie Underwood Wellman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Hyde, Sr., who died in 2014 and her daughter, Kathy Hyde. Billie was a Member of Trinity United Methodist Ch. in Kannapolis where she was a Sunday School Teacher - Primary Dept. Youth Groups and was in the Frances Boone Circle - Secretary and a member of the J. L. Smith Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Marion Winslow Chapter 168 which merged with Wright G Campbell Chapter 181, where she served as District Deputy. Survivors include her daughter, Lori Ann Hyde Gibson of Kannapolis and a son, Clay Hyde of Concord. The service for Billie will take place at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirk Tutterow and Rev. Tracy Love. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
