Billie Jean (Cook) Kelley

Billie Jean Cook Kelley, 79 of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 13, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus following a short illness.

Billie was born February 15, 1941 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Henry Louis Cook and Thelma Adelee Johnson Cook. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Coyte and Johnny Cook.

Billie was a longtime member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church. She loved to praise the Lord!

For many years she was a cosmetology teacher at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. She also was a director of the school of cosmetology in Charlotte.

She loved to sew, embroidery and read her Bible.

Family members left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years; John Earl Kelley, two sons, John Allen Mills (Kim) of Kannapolis and Jeff Mills (Velvet) of Concord.

She is also survived by five grandchildren; James Mills (Jennifer McCoy), Ryan Mills (Nikki Taylor) Jennifer Mills Siranko (Kevin) Ashley Parker and Nikki Price. Three great grandchildren also survive, Zachary Mills, Azure Mills and Jace Stancil.

One brother, Bobby Cook also survives.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Royal Oaks Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Andy Downs. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Social distancing and masks are required.
