Billy Wayne Teal

Obituary: Billy Wayne Teal, 79, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 21, 1937 in Cabarrus County, Billy was a son of the late James "Buck" and Effie Mae Rimer Teal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Teal; his brother Jimmy Teal and sister Joyce Ann Teal. Mr. Teal had been a supervisor at Cannon Mills, later owning Teal Vinyl Siding. A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Billy loved hunting, fishing and greatly enjoyed trips to Oak Island. A loving father and grandfather, he will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family members left with cherished memories include his sons Rocky Teal (Betty) and Jeff Teal (Tammy); daughters Robin Teal and Judy Peacock (Terry); 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a special best friend, Chris Phillips. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm Thursday, March 30th at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, conducted by Joey Dillard, Pastor. Mr. Teal will be laid to rest beside his wife in the church cemetery.
