Obituary: Mr. Billy Ray Wilson, 70, of Kannapolis, NC died in Mooresville, NC on November 10, 2012. Mr. Wilson was born on February 18, 1942 in Iredell Co., NC, the son of the late Ivey Lee Wilson and the late Lillie Beatrice Ball Wilson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Richard Wilson and Ralph Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served 2 years with the building mission. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Viet Nam era. He was a dedicated Dodgers fan but he truly loved ALL sports. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located in Kannapolis with Bishop Steve Page conducting the service. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday night, Nov. 14th at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Miller Wilson of the home; 3 sons, Jeremy Wilson (Kristan) of Concord, Josh Wilson (Brandy) and Matthew Wilson (Jaimie) all of Kannapolis; 8 loving grandchildren, Amber, Emma, Jeb, Sarah, Gracie, Emily, Grace and Logan. Also, by his sister, Shirley Morales (John) of Sandy, Utah and a sister-in-law, Sharon Wilson of Mooresville. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
