Obituary: Blenda C. Laws, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after several months of declining health. She was born September 8, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Clyde Bryson Christy and Addie Elsie Bracken Christy. Blenda was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, for fifteen years retiring there in 1982. Later, she worked for the Kannapolis City Schools in the cafeteria at McKnight Elementary School for several years. She also attended Enochville Church of God, Kannapolis, NC. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking for them and spending quality with her family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Albert Willard Laws; and two brothers, E.D. Christy and Claude Christy. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Enochville Church of God, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Carl Fosdick. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Elliott; three sons, Warren Laws (Cathy), Kenneth Laws (Kim), and Willard Junior Laws; five grandchildren, Jamie Laws, Courtney Triece (Caleb), Jessie Elliott, Shea Laws, MaKenzie Marshall (Kelly); and two great-grandchildren, Harper & Charlotte Triece . Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
