Bobbie Frances Shue Lomax

Obituary: Bobbie Frances Shue Lomax, 81, of Concord, NC died at her home on Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was born on July 5, 1930, the daughter of the late William T. Shue and the late Bertie D. Fink. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Grady Lomax who died in 2011. Mrs. Lomax was a 1948 graduate of Concord High School, was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She was not only a faithful and loving wife and mother, but a neighborhood "Mom" to many other children growing up in the Gibson Village area where she lived for 58 years. Active in her churches, she served as WMU Director, VBS director, and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Lomax loved to travel with her family, especially enjoying her visits to the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish country. Family and friends will truly miss Bobbie's wit, humor, and story-telling. The funeral for Mrs. Lomax will take place on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 2 p.m., at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Tim McQueen and Mr. Scott White officiating. Burial will take place at Carolina Mem. Park. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2:00 p.m. before the service at the church. Survivors include her children: Gradetta Lomas Newsom of Kannapolis, John Lomax of New London and Joel Lomax of Rockwell. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
