Bobbie Jeannette Tucker Steele

Obituary: Bobbie Jeannette Tucker Steele, 77 of Kannapolis, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at CMC-North East following a brief period of declining health. Bobbie was born on June 3, 1935 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Lonnie M. and Mae Baker Tucker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Frankie Steele Jr., and a sister Hazel Kelly. Bobbie was a 1954 graduate of W.R. Odell High School in Concord. For twenty years she was employed by hosiery mills in Concord and was employed by General Times in Davidson for five years before working at Allied Signal in Charlotte where she retired in 1997 after eighteen years of employment. Bobbie was known for her love of putting puzzles together, and working word search puzzles. She was especially fond of collecting Indian artifacts, and working with ceramics. Funeral services for Bobbie will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Revs. Nick Jackson and Ronnie Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include her sons Ricky Steele of Florida and Jeffrey Steele of the home; a brother Lonnie Tucker and wife Kathryn of Raleigh; two sisters, Joyce Bowman and husband Bill and Diane Funderburk and husband Carey both of China Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Monday March 25, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
