Obituary: Bobby Charles Bean, 61, of Kannapolis died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem following a period of declining health. He was born November 7, 1949 in Lincoln County, NC son of Amanda Lois Sherrill Bean of Denver, NC and the late Vergil Bean. Prior to his disability he was employed with Stanley Works in Concord with 10 years of service. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Viet Nam. He was a member the Viet Nam Veteran's Association. He was a member of Harvest Community Church where he was an active supporter of "Operation Christmas Child." Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Harvest Community Church in Concord conducted by Rev. Jeff Burris and Rev. Scott Whitman. Internment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Concord with military graveside rites conducted by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-3:00 P.M. At other times they will be at Mr. Bean's mother's home in Denver, NC. Mr. Bean is survived by his wife of 10 years: Carlene Isenhour Bean of the home, Daughter: Nicole (Jason) Wyatt of Norwood, Mother: Amanda Lois Sherrill Bean of Denver, two Sisters: Brenda Bean, Vickie Correll, two Brothers: James (Gaye) Bean, and Tim Bean all of Denver, NC. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In Lieu of Flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Harvest Community Church, 4284 Orphanage Road, Concord, NC 28027 or to Operation Christmas Child, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
