Obituary: Bobby Glenn Brooks, 67, of Kannapolis passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011.He was born June 2, 1944 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Marshall Lee Brooks, Sr. and the late Annie Lee Meeks Brooks. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Monica.Bobby was educated in the Kannapolis, City schools and was of the Baptist faith. He worked for years at Doc's cycle center in Kannapolis and at S&M Harley Davidson and also for Kannapolis Sprinkler Company.He is survived by his wife and best friend, Candy Brooks of Kannapolis, 2 daughters Cathy Moose (Alex) of Statesville and Regina Brooks and 1 son, Bobby Brooks, Jr., both of TN. Bobby is also survived by his brother, Marshall Brooks (Becky) of Kannapolis and 3 sisters, Reba Brooks of Richmond, VA, Dianne Jones (Danny) of Kannapolis, Dot Bostian of Charlotte, 2 sister-in-laws, Nancy Cook and Melinda Hughes and brother-in-law, Ronnie Davis. Survivors also include 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marshall Brooks Officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Friday.Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com and should friends desire, memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Midway Baptist Church, 914 Rochelle St. Kannapolis, NC 28081
