Mr. Bobby Joe Dease, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at his home.
Bobby was born on February 6, 1945 in Lancaster, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Luke Samuel Dease Sr. and Thelma Catoe Dease.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Chris Dease’ daughter Kim Dease; and by two brothers, Billy and Don.
Bobby and his wife Dianne (Gulledge) Dease were married on May 13, 2001 in China Grove, North Carolina.
He enjoyed a long career as a semi-truck driver. He never met a stranger and made many friends as he traveled the country.
His passion after retiring was planting and tending his garden. But what made him the happiest was sharing his bounty with his church family and his neighbors. It gave him great joy to share with other.
Bobby was a devoted member at Unity Baptist Church. He was there whenever the doors were open, as long as his health permitted. He loved his Pastor and his church family; but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son’s, Chad and his wife Amber, his son Lonnie, grandchildren, Jason Dease, Kayla Dease, Bailey Dease, Kai Dease, great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jaxon, Lilyanna, and Walter; brother, Luke Jr.; sister, Pat (David), Pam (Tommy), Polly (Mike), Brenda (Ed), and many special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2024 at 12:00pm at Unity Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The church ladies will be feeding the family immediately after the memorial service.
