Bobby Frank Quay

Bobby Frank Quay, 90, of Kannapolis, NC died August 10, 2023.

He was born on May 13, 1933, and was the son of the late Frank C. Quay and Elizabeth Rogers Brown.  Bobby was a lifelong resident of Kannapolis and was a member of the first graduating class of A.L. Brown 1952 class.

Bobby was a member of the Marching Band and enjoyed playing American Legion Baseball.  He met the late Audrey Ann Cook, from Mooresville who he married after graduating and they celebrated 58 years together until her death in 2010.  Bobby spent his career in Cannon Mills and Manetta Mills.  He was as avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

In addition to his parents Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fourney and Emma Rogers, his stepfather A. Curtis Brown, Jr. and a brother, Albert C. Brown, Jr.

Surviving family members are two daughters: Melissa Quay Little and husband, C.F. “Buck” Little and Penny Quay Knight and husband, Gene   Also surviving are his sister, Kay Brown Ervin, and his brother Larry J. Brown and wife Glenda, along with many cousins who loved him dearly.

The funeral service for Mr Quay will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday August 14, 2023, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Perry Hines officiating and music will be provided by Mr. Daniel Truhitte and Sharon Wooten. The burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM before the service.
